Hiya! Hope you're all having a cracking weekend! Had a lovely evening last night with an old school friend and today has consisted mostly of gratuitous napping and snacking! Tomorrow one of my best friends is staying with me for a week and then we're all off on a little road trip down to Manchester. I've never actually been before so if you guys have any recommendations then please let me know! I'm open to (just about) anything.

I was invited by the lovely people over at Aubin & Wills to visit their store in Edinburgh and pick up a couple of my favourite items. It's a brand I'm not overly familiar with (mainly due to the fact it's inconspicuously tucked away in Edinburgh's New Town). They had some really lovely bits and pieces on offer, the quality is luxurious and the style sophisticated. I picked up this slinky white silk top, that doesn't exactly look like much on the hanger but my god it hangs beautifully, perfect 'go to' top for work and goes with absolutely everything. Perfect!

Really impressed by this months Glossy Box offerings. The pink box was such a lovely touch but what was inside was even more impressive. I love trying out new skin care so I was really excited when I saw February's contents! Also, Eyeko is a brand I've always been on the fence about buying, so it was great to see an eyeliner sample in there. Overall, I was most impressed by the Davines balm and cleanser, which is wonderfully rich and nourishing, not to mention the gorgeous packaging! I see the Murad samples a lot in these boxes, but from personal experience I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole. I was sent the full skin scare package to try a few months ago and, despite being marketed towards those with problem skin, it broke me out horrifically to the point I had to be prescribed antibiotics to clear up the damage it imposed on my face. I've read similar reviews online about the Murad products so on that note I would advise anyone who enjoys clear skin to stay away at all costs! These are however, the sort of products I like to see in sample boxes. Neutral make up products and skin care that can be realistically tried out and tested and I know I say this a lot, but hooray for no perfume samples!

Quite sad that Edinburgh hasn't seen any snow this weekend, although I've still been living in this cosy wool mix coat that I bought in Zara a couple of years back for a mere £18.00. I'm crazy about this new shirt from Olive. It has holds all the perfect components I've been after in terms of a casual white shirt: unusual neckline, slouchy and punctuated with pockets at the front. Today I went shopping for work trousers, i don't know about you guys, but this is the sort of shopping trip which is met with much resistance. I just cant explain how utterly painful I find spending money on unsightly work gear. In my head, I want a black, wool mix,peg leg trouser preferably with grey accents. Does this exist? If any of you can point me in the right direction I would be most grateful! I don't think I can face another excruciating and quite frankly fruitless trip to Zara! Help me.

Q&A: Rebecca Torres

In anticipation of her SS12 online release this week, I had a chat with the lovely Rebecca Torres, who explains the inspiration behind her latest collection and the Torres approach to body-con-fidence..

For my readers who perhaps aren't familiar with your work, can you tell us a bit about the origins of Rebecca Torres and philosophy behind the Torres brand?

I studied Fashion Design and Manufacturing at Cardonald College in Glasgow and furthered my education by obtaining a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Fashion Business at Caledonian University. After graduation in 2007, I worked in London with designer/stylist Nova Dando. During my time in London I assisted on a variety of photo shoots ranging from music videos to television adverts. It was this rich experience in the UK fashion capital that inspired me to create my own label – REBECCA TORRES. Hosting my first collection in 2008 to an overwhelmingly positive response. Also, later that year I was nominated as one of Vice magazines 'Creative 30', short-listing 30 of the most creative talents under 30 in the UK. Following up from this nomination I was selected as one of the top five designers to discover in 2009 by The Herald. Since then The brand has had a sell out collection on ASOS.com and is now expanding to sell directly from our own transactional website which will launch in February 2012. I'm so excited about this!!

Each garment is produced in the UK. It is important to me to keep manufacturing within the UK to help our industry and also so I can oversee every element of the manufacturing process. The Ethos behind my brand is to empower and inspire the woman who own my designs.

I've been following your career for a couple of years now, and it's amazing to see a Scottish talent get recognition and such a strong presence within the industry. Did you find the Scottish fashion climate hard to progress in and what would you say to other promising designers who live in Scotland who are facing difficulties north of the border?

I have to be honest and say i have found it hard within the Scottish climate. Although, organisations like the Princes Trust they have made it possible for me and my business to push forward. Meeting new people and artists from Scotland, as well as London, has also helped the business too. I am in no rush to move to London, but I do feel making regular trips down to London has helped my business massively. To any young designer starting out in Scotland, I say keep going and believe in yourself! Be true and honest in your work motivation. Perseverance and hard work will pay off in the long run.

Where do you find inspiration and what is your creative process when coming up with a new collection?

The inspiration behind each collection can vary dramatically. From everyday events, to exposure of different forms of art. I suppose what is a constant throughout the creative process is that I keep an open mind and allow inspiration to come naturally. I make sure that I don’t shut myself off by only exposing myself to the medium that I have chosen to work in. For example my last two collections were mainly influenced by the 1984 Olympics and female superheroes.

I know a lot of women who break out in a cold sweat at the mere mention of Bodycon, what would you say to the girls that love your dresses but perhaps feel apprehensive about wearing them?

Please don't be!!! My best selling sizes are 12-14. Women with a curvy body shape look great in my designs! I get sent lots of amazing pictures on facebook and twitter from woman in the US who are wearing my dresses. They are far from your typical skinny mini and they look incredible! I just wish girls could see themselves through my eyes and see how amazing they look. Not just in my designs but in bodycon in general. It's all about inner confidence!

I love your signature use of geometric colours and shape. Can we expect more of this in the new collection?

Yes the SS12 collection, titled “Bilistiche” is in keeping with my fascination with shape and colour, but also adds more active silhouettes to the collection. This latest offering was inspired by Bilistiche, a woman who won the tethrippon and the synoris horse race in the 129th Olympic Games in 264 BC. I dont know much about her, but i just liked the idea of a woman in that time winning what I can only imagine was a very male orientated game. Each garment I have created celebrates femininity and captures the imagination, with sleek panelling and vivid use of colour. The dynamic shapes and colour palette explored in this collection mould to a woman's body

showcasing the feminine silhouette.

If you could dress any celebrity who would it be?

I would love to dress someone like Juliette Lewis or Nicki Minaj, Katy Perry, Rhianna, Beyonce........All the big ones that have great attitude, big personalities and show great confidence.

How would you describe the ideal 'Rebecca Torres' woman?

Someone who is confident in who they are and exceed confidence within themselves. A woman who can take one of my designs and make it their own, creating their own style whilst wearing the dress.

My personal favourite of yours is the Maria dress, do you have a favourite piece or one that you're especially proud of?

For me it would have to be the Midi length black and pink mesh sleeve, as it is the one that has received the most attention during my career. I'm still getting requests for it now. I am planning to do an exclusive line of this style on the website and I think I will continue to do so it is a classic Rebecca Torres piece.

Today I was marched to IKEA by my boyfriend to get plastic...yes, PLASTIC boxes to decant my over flowing wardrobe into. I always find it quite melancholy putting clothes into boxes, much like when I was young and refused to put my toys into storage because I believed they had feelings... Toy Story had an overwhelming impact me as a child what can I say? Anyway, things are looking up and I can now award each individual piece of clothing with their very own hanger. Result.

It's not every day the postman conveys such a treat. Hands shaking, I frantically scrawled my signature and snatched it out of his long suffering hands. I'm not one for containing myself by any means, and why should I, after winning (yes,winning) one of the most beautiful and coveted handbags fashion has to offer. How did I manage to acquire something so majestic and entirely unattainable? Well, last week Browns and British Vogue selflessly teamed up and offered the chance to win this incredible Lanvin bag. Anyone that knows me or even follows my Tumblr for that matter, will know I have an unhealthy appetite for taxidermy. Which is why I spent the best part of this morning affixing this little guy to our wall. The frame surrounding my farm friend was somewhat a point of contention between my Mother and I, who interestingly pointed out that the wall feature I was so deeply excited about bore a slight resemblance to Phoebes beloved 3d works in Friends.

If you want to emulate something similar for yourself you will need:

1. A creepy skull pulled from your Mothers creepy garage

2. A Frame, with some Acrylic paint to haphazardly create a 'distressed look'.

3. A boyfriend who doesn't mind you pinning dead animals to the wall.

4. Probably mental health issues and moreover, bad taste.

A Day in a Dress

Was recently invited by Voucher Codes to take part in the Most Wanted Day in a Dress Challenge. The idea is really fun: you spend a day in a dress and judge it in terms of durability,comfort, quality etc. I chose this little number from Warehouse as my subject. It's not traditionally my cup of tea, but the object of the challenge was to review a 'party dress' and I really liked the colour and the cut out detail on the front. It's nice to inject a bit of girliness from time to time, and it was a welcome departure from my typical 90s lesbian look.

My hypothesis for this dress wasn't entirely met I am sorry to say. I thought it would be a figure hugging kardashian sort of deal, a head turner. In reality it sort of hung off me in a way which reminded me of when I was little and trying on my elder sisters clothes. I also noticed that the lining was completely off, and was bumpy and actually showing in some areas of the dress. As the day progressed, so did my chills. Although I look relatively happy in these photos, I can assure you I was a quivering, resentful mess. Resentful that yet again I had chosen a silly dress that my gran would certainly not approve of and what was about to ensure was a chest infection as opposed to wolf whistles. I feel like I'm giving this dress a hard time, I don't mean to. It just really didn't feel comfortable on. So much of the back is exposed that I think it would be hard for any girl to fit in this dress well...there's too many complicated straps and cut outs. Despite all this, my boyfriend loved it. When questioned as to why..his response was simple and wholesome: "well, it's red and it's short". I think though, despite my own personal feeling about the dress (bearing mind this has probably been tainted my perpetual self loathing) it does have the 'party dress' appeal, all my friends and family loved I so I probably will incorporate it into my Christmas party wardrobe after all.

There are loads of gorgeous dresses in Warehouse just now, but before you buy check out the Warehouse Discount Page, there are loads of brilliant savings to be had!

I was lucky enough to try out another Glossy Box edition this month, it's always a lovely surprise when the postman comes with a little pink box of goodies! Despite this..I was a little disappointed with this months instalment. The only product I was genuinely excited about was the Monu Recovery Balm. The excitement was completely merited considering it is actually a brilliant product. I wasn't really sure what the name 'recovery balm' actually denotes. The message on the packaging reads "for stressed skin"... Stressed I hear you say? My skin? The skin that's lathered in Khiels, Dermalogica and other expensive products on a daily basis? What on earth does it have to be stressed about? I used it anyway. My skin did look nice afterwards, leaving me with the sinking feeling that maybe I did mistreat, or malnourish my poor skin in some way to leave it feeling 'stressed'. After coming to the conclusion that my skin is in fact a spoiled b**ch I moved on to the bath salts. I'm sorry, you might disagree with me on this one, but the 'no frills' approach to Dead Sea Magiks packaging left me anything but excited to use it. It's clinical and reminds me of something polyfilla or other B&Q hardware goods would be packaged in. To add insult to aesthetic injury, it comes in what one can only described as a crisp bag. I felt confused about this little anaemic bag of what looked to be grit, but I did use and I have to be honest, I'd take Radoxs lovely bubbles any day over this nonsense.

I really hope GlossyBox start adding make up to their boxes again. I would seriously take a blue glittery eyeshadow over another perfume sample!

I love this little set from Lingerie Please. It's not the sort of thing I would ever buy for myself...but I confess they make wonderful gifts. Romantic silk and embroidery, what's not to like? After obsessing over Zaras Studio Shirt for a number of weeks now, to no avail ( it's sold out pretty much everywhere) I decided to try my hand at some collar detailing myself and Im actually quite pleased with the result. All you need are some nice card corners (available from most good craft shops) some gold and silver thread and a shirt you don't mind ruining if it all goes wrong (it won't..it's incredibly simple)

Just wanted to introduce you guys to my very,very talented friend Kelly McAllister, whose work I've been admiring/pining after ever since I met her. I took these photos down at the Funk Fair in Edinburgh last weekend because I was dying to show you guys her designs, and I'm sure you will all agree, they are absolutely beautiful. Girls have been adorning themselves with feathers for a couple of seasons now and admittedly, the bohemian undertones were starting to bore me. For me, Kelly takes the use of feathers in a completely new direction.What really excites me are her use of white feathers against the dark silver, juxtaposed to create the perfect drama you want from a piece of jewellery. The pictures really don't do these pieces justice. Whats MORE, for a bespoke, beautiful piece of black swan jewellery heaven, it's pretty damn reasonable in terms of price. See for yourself HERE.

Behind the Scenes at Volcom - Biarrtiz

Hello!

Here are some shots from my recent rendezvous with Volcom in Biarritz. Not so long ago, the lovely Josie contacted me asking if I would be interested in modelling for Volcoms AW '12 lookbook, of course I jumped at the chance and but a few weeks later I was flown out to sunny Biarritz to get my pose on. I can honestly say that, despite being quite nervous, the Volcom team are such a lovely lovely bunch and definitely made me feel at ease. Besides, who could feel anxious in a room full of half pipes? (yes, they have half pipes in their studio building which I found quite simply amazing) Biarritz is such laid-back, cool and genuine place, and this is definitely reflected in not only the brand, but the team as well.

I cannot wait to see how the whole production turns out (especially the orangutan shots). Thank you, Volcom, for having me and my awkward posing and a special thank you to the wonderful Josie for such a great gig!

Being a bit of a skin care maniac I was really excited by this months box. Dermalogica is basically the holy grail of skincare in my eyes, I've never been disappointed with their products. I usually use the Gentle Cream Exfoliant twice a week and nothing wakes my skin up more. I used the Multivitamin Recovery mask after the exfoliant and it it left my skin feeling so nourished and smooth.The lip recovery is really, really nice too. I did, selflessly, give it to my boyfriend though, he flies and travels every week with work and was complaining of dry lips (what a girl). Anyway, it works!I think it was a really nice touch giving us a few to try too, which would allow people who were perhaps not familiar with Dermalogica to really appreciate the brand.

The Stila eyeliner looked absolutely dreadful on me, but I can appreciate the lovely application and pigmentation. I liked this months box, a lot! Lots of products to get excited about. APART from the perfume samples, really, I think have enough now!

Celebrated over the next couple of days in Mexico (and other parts of the world), Day of the Dead embodies everything I love about the Mexican indigenous aesthetic. Personified in contemporary times by Frida Kahlo and her emblematic paintings, which for me, capture the very essence of Mexican tradition and spirituality. The festival itself is not nearly as sinister as its name denotes, and is a vibrant, happy celebration of those passed. Such a beautiful festival, I'd love to go,if only to acquire an authentic sugar skull.

When I first heard about Glossy Box, I wasn't entirely convinced. For me, it seemed strange that beauty consumers would pay a monthly fee to receive small samples. Presumably, any reputable company who wants to capitalise and expand on their client base would be more than obliging in providing samples for their customers to try before they buy.

The thing is, and I'm sure you will all agree, that unfortunately it's rather easy to get stuck in somewhat of a beauty rut: using the same, unremarkable products time and time again purely out of convenience, and well, laziness. It is both an arduous and tenacious task trawling through all the latest beauty fads/cult products and there's always that underlying apprehension of being ripped off. I'm a bit lost in the world of beauty and cosmetics. Of course I'm interested in having nice products, but I'm just not interested in doing the leg work to actually find them. Flicking aimlessly through the beauty sections of magazines doesn't help much either. The reason for this is twofold, firstly I'm certain these reviews are never completely impartial - magazines are almost certainly endorsed for at least 80% of the products they rant and rave about. Secondly, there's only so far a printed review of a product can go for me, Id rather feel, smell and try the product before I splurge. Magazine reviews rarely leave a lasting impression on me, I read the review, think 'oh that's great, I'll definitely try that', close it and instantly forget about it.

Glossybox is great in the sense that you can try great products from the comfort of your own home. The products are carefully selected and are pretty relevant to their young, beauty junky demographic. Put it this way, you wont be receiving any royal jelly or lavender soap through your postbox any time soon. Great also, is that you don't have to expend the time, energy and extra money trying new, and almost always disappointing products.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not going to sit here and rave about all the products I received. The HD brow kit was great and I'm confident that this would probably retail for around, or possibly even more than the actual subscription price of the box.( I just checked, and it's twice the value of the box). The product is excellent and I've used it almost every day since I received it. Its a multi tonal palette with different shades, long lasting and comes with a really great little brush. The moisturiser I am thinking of purchasing again, I loved smell and I'm becoming more and more enamoured with the idea of using entirely organic/natural products on my skin. Same goes for Moas Green Balm, which, it appears, really is a healing agent. I know this because I tried it on a burn and was significantly relieved of my pain! As for the rest of the box contents,I could pretty much take or leave but there is no denying that I thoroughly enjoyed trying them all and coming home to a beautifully presented, personalised box of goodies!

David Mach - Precious Light

After unrelenting encouragement from my Mum to go and see David Machs 'Precious Light' - I finally got myself down to the City Art Centre to see what all the fuss was about. Marketed as a celebration of the 400th anniversary of the publication (King James version) of the bible, I was slightly sceptical. What I expected was an antiquated religious narrative that has been widely revered in European art for centuries. What I got was so much more. Machs work is more of a social commentary, depicting provocative social realism through monolithic sculptures and cinematic collages. Meticulous in detail, Mach captures celebrated religious stories and transforms them into relevant, sociopolitical landscapes. The attention to detail was what really prevailed for me. Nothing was missed. Mach employs somewhat of an inception like philosophy: a scene, within a scene, within a scene etc which leaves the viewer wondering how on earth he did it.

Phillip Lim S/S '12

Lim pays homage to his childhood penchant for kites and gives a colourful sartorial nod to my juvenile idea of fashion hell: the infamous 90s tracksuit. Or 'casual wear', if you will. Once considered the epitome of 'bad taste' tones, lovely Lim has transformed into a powerful palette of delicious sherbet sorbets nourishing an otherwise anaemic collection. His self proclaimed captivation with kites is clearly visible through the beautiful billowing, and free fluid movement of the barely there silks. On a personal note, what I really love about this collection is that the sports references are subtle and (cue buzzword) actually wearable. As a general rule I tend to stay clear of anything perforated that is home to superfluous zips. Its androgynous but pretty. Modest, yet retains an element of youthfulness that someone such as myself, ruefully approaching their mid 20s and a professional life can whole heatedly appreciate. Ultimately, I just love the easiness of it all, and by 'easy' I mean conceptually of course, because from my purses point of view there's probably nothing easy about it.

HD Brows- Zen Salon, Edinburgh

Last week I was invited to come along and try out a treatment at Zen Salon in Edinburgh, I was really excited to finally see the new branch of salon on Hanover Street for myself as I'd heard nothing but fantastic things about it. One thing that I will say is that, aesthetically, this place completely transcended all my expectations and resembled something more of a baroque boudoir than your typical spa. I always feel a little bit silly in places like this, I think this mostly stems from the fact that I was brought up in a household that laughed in the face of manicures and all things 'girly'- I spent most of my youth, contentedly, in a dungarees with dirty fingernails collecting insects. (This was my own self determined youth I should probably add,my parents did attempt to bathe me and give me barbies on numerous occasions, to no avail)

Anyway, sat comfortably in Zens stunning Louis XVI esk waiting area I couldn't help but feel at home as the wonderfully friendly and uber glamorous ladies welcomed me with smiles and a refreshment. I, (and I'm sure many of you) have a perpetual obsession with achieving the 'perfect' eyebrows so I had no difficulty in choosing the 'High Definition Brow Lift' as my treatment- which is a multifaceted procedure consisting of threading,waxing and dying. The result? Perfectly defined brows!

I read somewhere that ones brows should, in appearance, have a similarity in looks as close as sisters would (not identical, but close) but never resemble 'distant cousins'. Despite trying to pluck in line with this sound advice, I think its safe to say that BZ (before zen) mine were leaning towards a 'half cousin twice removed' state of affairs.This photo was taken shortly after the treatment before I filled them in a little more to my taste. I'm VERY happy with the result and I will most definitely be going back for more next month! Well technically I'll be going back tomorrow evening for an event hosted by the lovely ladies at Hanover street which ill fill you all in on this week!

My boyfriend and I visited the beautiful city of Barcelona a few weeks ago so thought I'd share some of my snaps and thoughts on the place. A celebratory holiday should I point out, for at the beginning of the summer I secured my dream job at an Edinburgh law firm starting next year. (Yay!) Please also accept my apologies for the quality (or lack) of these pictures, our beloved 50mm died a slow,painful and quite possibly sand induced death on but the second day of our trip. Condolences on a postcard please.

It would be absurdly dilettantish of me to attempt an in depth, culturally sound account of Barcelona (mainly because I am not the most intrepid traveller by any means and secondly in doing this I would be forced to omit the fact that 'getting a tan' was high on my holiday priority list) so instead I'll recommend my favourite spots:

Museu Picasso: Picasso aficionados, you will not be disappointed. The museum holds an extensive collection of Picasso's formative works and depicts the artists lengthy love affair with Barcelona. The museum is really special, holding precocious school drawings and paintings which give you a real insight into Picasso's early development as a painter. My highlights were mainly the amazing portraits from the blue and rose periods and not forgetting the surreal La Meninas series. I didn't actually realise how heavily Picasso emulated El Greco until I visited this museum, particularly in this painting (El Loco) which my boyfriend and I literally stopped and stared at for what felt like an age. The final part of the museum is home to Picasso's contemporary ceramics, which are equally amazing and definitely worth a look. He puts my crockery to shame.

Joan Miro Foundation: One of my favourite artists and probably the most celebrated Catalonian painter, I was SO excited to see this. There are to the tune of 11,000 Miro works here and an outdoor terrace complete with sculptures, not to mention the amazing Alexander Calder mercury sculpture which is (thankfully) confined in glass, but still visible to appreciate in all its (poisonous) glory. We were so incredibly taken with the place that we did something terribly provincial and bought a poster. Oh. Dear.

Modernista Buildings: OK so I know everyone visits and raves about the Gaudi masterpieces so I won't go on about it. Yes they are amazing and no, nothing prepares you for the impact of the dizzying majestic heights of Sagrada Familia. Its one of those buildings I just can't get my head around. A close second is the psychedelic Park Guell. Totally fantastical and surreal, I could have spent hours in here. Lastly , La Pedrera- is the amazing emblematic apartment block which has, in typical Gaudi style, the most insane roof top terrace with sculptures resembling medieval warriors and bizarre organic forms. Downstairs is a furnished reconstruction of a typical late 19th century modernist bourgeois flat which was as fascinating as it was creepy.

Parc De La Ciutadella: Barcelona's answer to Central Park, we retreated here for a break from the bustling city. Feels and looks like a movie set, especially with the placid man made lake-where if you're feeling romantic you can rent a boat for an hour or two. Magical Baroque style fountain...Parrots fly around everywhere...LOVE.

The great thing about Barcelona is that as a city, it totally defies categorisation. Whatever your modis operandi: art,food,beaches, whatever, Barca pretty much has it all. Definitely worth a visit! My tan's not bad either.

Hello everyone.

Now I'm going to take a small step outside my usual realm of narcissistic material web indulgence for a second and ask you all for a favour.

Unless you have been living under a rock (in Scotland at least), you all will have read or at least heard about the heinous crimes of Malcolm Webster, who last month was found guilty of murdering Claire Morris in a fake fire ball crash in Aberdeenshire,1994 (you can read more here).What has followed that conviction, is not the full closure that one would expect for the Morris family. The impossible problem which now faces them is that of Claires lair- who's ownership still lies with the man who killed her: Webster.The unpalatable consequences of this is that not only does her headstone still bear the name 'Webster', her murderer could essentially still request to be buried with her upon his own death as he still retains complete ownership of her grave as the legal lair holder. In order to have it changed, under the current law, Claires family would be forced to seek the permission of her murderer. Terrible, right?

Claires brother explains:

“I find that abhorrent.The grave and the gravestone would have been paid out of the insurance money which he fraudulently obtained for murdering my sister.To ask me or any of my family to have to go to him to ask permission to own this grave, I find absolutely incredible.They're worried about his human rights and that he could sue them for transferring the grave into my ownership. It's bewildering.”An Aberdeenshire Council spokeswoman said that the registered owner of the lair would need to make the changes.Mr Douglas Swan, technical director of the National Association of Memorial Masons confirmed that Claire’s family would need to seek permission from Webster in order to change the grave stone.Because it is a local authority run graveyard, an application will also have to be made to Aberdeenshire Council before changes can be made to the plot.If the memorial and land was bought by Webster, then he is the lair and he is the only one who can authorise the change"

Please help Claires family get the closure and indeed justice they are entitled to and sign this e petition HERE , the objective of which is to demonstrate the need and support for new legislation in regards to the support and assistance given to victims of crime and their families. Hey lovelies!

Had a lovely weekend with my boyfriends family. Went for a Mad Hatters Tea Party at the Roseleaf which basically consists of a rather large consumption of cocktails out of kitsch teapots/teacups accompanied by some nibbles presented on a cake stands. So unbelievably charming, if you live in Edinburgh I highly recommend you you book an afternoon there with the girls! My boyfriends mum, the babe that she is, was kind enough to lend me her treasured 2.55 for a couple of weeks as I have something important coming up in the next few days. Apparently not only is this bag beautiful...but its lucky too! Woo hoo!

The weather was absolutely glorious today so we decided to indulge in some sun bathing and a BBQ in our garden...the perfect end to the perfect weekend!

Hello All! In rather a good mood tonight having just been sent a copy of Teen Vogue Korea where I have been given a little feature. Good Times! (Photos to follow shortly) Nearly killed myself running a red light on the way to pick it up from the post office after work...my eyes were so dry that both of my contact lenses fell out simultaneously as I was crossing the lights and I somehow 'missed' the fact it was red and just shot through! Still shaking having nearly injured myself and about 6 other drivers. Needless to say I received some aggressive beeps and some 'typical female driver' slurs that I simply cannot repeat on here. Eeek!

I love this dress from The Lookbook Store, its kind of reminiscent of this one from H&M that everybody and their mother was wearing last summer. Hello my darlings!

More dark tones I'm afraid..well really, what else are we supposed to do with ourselves in this dismal 'summer' weather. Ill continue to dress for autumn for as long as the weather stays like this. Thank goodness I'm off to Barcelona soon for a couple of weeks with my boyfriend, I cant stand the misery that is Scottish weather right now. Yuck!

I'm absolutely in LOVE with my new Low Luv cuff, I seriously cant stop looking at it. I'm not precisely sure what the little thing is that's dangling off of it, but either way, its fabulous!

Had so many emails about my hair recently so thought I'd put a little note here instead of replying to you all individually. The colour is out of a bottle: Nice n Easy 117. It didn't actually state anything about red tones on the box, but for some reason my hair now has a reddish sort of tinge to it which I actually quite like. Actually considering going even redder for my holidays...I will almost certainly freak out at the notion of this nearer the time and end up not doing it as Im a bit of a hair wimp. Styling wise, all I really do is rough dry my hair and add some loose curls through it, making sure I don't curl the ends or create tight curls for that sort of beachy messy look. I sometimes use Schwarzkopf Dust-It or some hairspray to add volume. That's really about it! Nothing too elaborate at all I'm afraid.

Good Evening all!

Just having a lazy Friday night in so thought I'd fit in a cheeky blog post of what I was wearing the other night! The Cardigan is from Pretty Sunday.Despite being such a hard colour to match, I decided eventually to team it with some pastel colours. Its one of those things you're always tempted to wear with black, but I think it looks way more summery worn this way.

Also, RE my Pamela Love post earlier, I completely forgot to mention that I actually have a piece from her Topshop collection. I have to to say I was completely disappointed with the workmanship and general quality of what I received, so if you're thinking of buying a piece, save your pennies for something else. I got completely sucked in by the fact it was Pamela Love, but the for the price they are asking, its just not worth it at all. Literally just another case of slapping a name on something to bump up the price.May as well just save for the real thing. Sorry for the rant, I was just so utterly deflated when I received it!Blah!Anyway, I exchanged the necklace for these boots, a pretty good copy of the infamous Acne Pistol Boot if you ask me!

Hello my dears!

Just thought Id share with you my amazing new cardigan that the lovely people at Le Mont St Michel sent me a few weeks back. Okay, the print is kind of reminiscent of those psychedelic 70s carpets that our grans used to have in their homes (or still do for that matter). I think my penchant for 'ugly clothing' has reached an all time high with this. Seriously though, I cant help but love it. I guess you would class it as a 'coatigan'..its really thick and cosy, and I was more than warm enough in it at our late night BBQ last weekend. Le Mont's aesthetic represents something of a mix between traditional Parisienne chic and sport luxe. Both wearable and classic, any piece from this brand would be a great investment. As a bit of a sucker for knitwear (Scotland is freezing and i do not tell a lie) I can vouch that the knitwear is, albeit pricey, amazing quality. You can find them via Urban Outfitters here.

In other news, its my friend from works birthday tomorrow, so we're having a little cosmo night and I cant wait! Luckily I'm off on Friday. Not for leisure unfortunately, as I'm helping my Mum move house. I have no upper body strength whatsoever so this should prove interesting...I guess Ill just carry the towels or something! Ha!

Hey everyone!

This is just a little catch up post, Ive been so busy recently and I feel like Ive neglected the interweb a little bit. If you're waiting on an email back from me please be patient..it will come, I promise! Apart from being the flakiest blogger ever, Ive been over indulging in BBQS and all things summer recently! This weekend we had not one, but TWO BBQS in our back garden. To combat the bitter cold on Saturday, my boyfriend and I invested in a Chimnea, where we toasted marshmallows and drank copious amounts of wine with our friends until the wee hours. These things are AMAZING and generate so much heat, so if you're a fan of having a glass of wine in the garden, but aren't fortunate enough to live someplace Mediterranean...then this is the perfect solution!

Have also been enjoying my new feathery earrings from Vic,they are so pretty and you can get your hands on a pair here. :)

Hello!

Just home from a truly fantastic wedding this weekend at the exclusive Meldrum House, a rustic baronial Scottish country house hotel just north of Aberdeen. Id actually been there before when my boyfriend took me there for our first Valentines day (what a gent, I know). These pictures were taken in the beautiful grounds, which were complete with sparkling lakes and highland cows (I told you it was Scottish). Genuinely romantic, it provided the perfect Celtic backdrop for a wedding. Just Lovely! Don't worry, I didn't rock up in this outfit, this was what I wore the day after. I stayed an extra night in the hotel with my boyfriends family where we had the most amazing meal and the most potent Cosmopolitans I have ever tasted. I'm a little bit sad its all over to be honest, mainly because I really want to wear my 'flower girl' dress again....so if anyone needs a super sized flower girl, id be more than happy to oblige!
